3 weeks in and our students and teachers have settled in nicely. I visited every classroom last week and our students were hard at work. I noticed that many students are very tired after lunch. Please help our students by ensure they get a good night's rest each night. This will allow them to be able to focus and not miss out on anything during the day.
War horses, jousting, knights...what do they have to do with Rockdale Intermediate school?
We would like to invite parents to find out at our EarlyAct FirstKnight Tournament of Champions of Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 1:30 pm. Please bring your lawn chair as the program will be held on our playground.
EarlyAct FirstKnight is a character education program sponsored by Rockdale Rotary Club, EAFK motivates and teaches students to become civil, service-oriented people during their most formative years.
This is the second year that Rockdale Intermediate School has participated in the FirstKnight program. The goal of the event is to inspire students to commit to the EAFK program throughout the school year where they will learn and apply concepts like respect, personal responsibility, honesty, compassion, fairness, tolerance and service to others. Contact our counselor, Keely Reinser, at 512.430.6200 for more information.
Gold Out Pep Rally : RIS students will attend the Gold Out Pep Rally at Rockdale High School on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 9:00 am. Students must be on time to school as students can not be dropped off at RHS by parents if they are late. Also, if you need your student before 11:00 am you will need to let us know before the end of the day of Thursday, September, 14, 2017 so that we can make arrangements for your student not to attend the pep rally.
Students are encouraged to wear a Gold Out Shirt to the pep rally and football game. We will also take a school photo after the pep rally with students who are wearing Gold Out Shirt. Forms are available in the office to purchase the 2017 Gold Out Shirts. The shirts are $10.
If you have any questions, please contact counselor Keely Reisner at 512.430.6200.
Have a great week!
Kathy Pelzel, Principal
