RIS Newsletter - October 2, 2017
On Friday we completed the last day of the first six weeks. Our students worked hard during the first six weeks learning the rules, processes and procedures for their new grade. You will receive report cards on Friday and it is important that you review the information and discuss it with your child. Taking time now to discuss progress and concerns will help support them for the next six weeks and ensure they start off on the right foot.
We acknowledged two classes this past week for service to our community. Mrs. Pickel's class purchased the most shirts in support of childhood cancer awareness. Mrs. Knesek's class donated the most school supplies for our school donation to Refugio ISD. Each class was treated to snow cones and recess for their efforts. Thank you for supporting our community service efforts this six weeks.
On Wednesday we will hold our first EAFK ceremony. Students were chosen who best exemplified the character trait of respect. Parents were notified last week if their child was chosen to be honored. Just a reminder that students who are chosen do not know until their accolade is read on stage by their teacher. Please help us make this an exciting time for your child by not sharing the surprise.
We look forward to a great week at RIS!
