My name is Christina Jimenez, and I’d like to welcome you and your child to 3rd grade. This year is going to be filled with many fun, exciting learning experiences—from math, social studies, reading, writing and doing science experiments in our science lab. I am very excited about the upcoming year!
Please allow me to tell you a little about myself and my teaching philosophy. I am a hometown Rockdale girl and this will be my 13th year teaching in Rockdale Elementary/Intermediate. I obtained my bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2004. Over the years, the children have taught me many valuable lessons. The first being that all children can and do learn when immersed in a nurturing, consistent, disciplined learning environment. Secondly, all children are uniquely created by God and those unique differences should be valued and celebrated. Those two truths guide my teaching every year and allow me to help each child reach his or her optimal potential while in 3rd grade. As both a teacher and a mother, I pledge to treat your child with the same respect, kindness, and dignity with which I would expect any of my daughter’s teachers to treat them. It is my privilege to be your child’s companion in learning this year as we travel down this path together. Working hand in hand with you, I know this school year will be very successful and your child will create many fond memories of 3rd grade.
