Rockdale ISD is proud to announce significant progress in its state accountability ratings, with the district’s overall score rising from a 73 to a 78. This growth highlights strong academic gains across individual campuses over the past year.
Highlights of the latest ratings include:
Rockdale High School (RHS) & Rockdale Intermediate School (RIS): Both campuses earned a "B" rating, making a notable leap from their 2025 "C" ratings.
Rockdale Junior High (RJH): Demonstrated remarkable growth by improving its score to a 78, earning a "C" rating after receiving a "D" rating in 2025.
"While we are incredibly proud of this improvement, we know we still have more work to do," said Dr. Michael Watson, Superintendent of Schools. "Our long-term sights are set firmly on becoming an 'A' district. Reaching a 'B' rating is our essential next step, and this year's progress proves we are moving steadily in that direction."
Superintendent Watson credited the district's upward trajectory to the collective effort of the entire school community.
"This achievement directly reflects the hard work and dedication of our teachers, as well as the persistence and outstanding effort of our students," Watson added. "I also want to extend a huge thank you to all of our families for your continued partnership and for supporting our students every step of the way. Go Tigers!"
